Off-Site Builder Enters Competition to Finish Tubbs Fire Rebuilds
A new innovative home builder has emerged in Sonoma and Napa counties that deliver homes faster, better, and for less money. No wonder they are called Smart Homes.
High-quality single-family homes built off-site in a factory and installed on your lot.
Santa Rosa, CA – July 30, 2020: Smart Homes announced today that it has opened a new model home in the Coffey Park neighborhood of Santa Rosa and is now offering high quality off-site built homes for sale with an emphasis on the fire rebuild areas of Sonoma and Napa counties.
The homes come in 10 different floorplans with numerous upgrade options and range from 1,500 square feet to 2,500 square feet, all of which are single level. Beginning in October, Smart Homes will be offering accessory dwelling units (ADU’s or granny units) that are well-suited for detached, additional living space such as a home office, or as an income-producing rental property.
The model home is available to view on Saturdays from 10:00 to 2:00 and on Sundays from 12:00 to 4:00 and during the week by appointment at 1680 Jessica Place in Santa Rosa’s Coffey Park area.
To arrange for an appointment call director of sales Rory McCormick on (707) 242.1971.
Generally speaking, Smart Homes can be move-in ready in 4-6 months and cost about 30% less than finished stick-built homes, depending on the upgrades Smart Homes’ customers choose.
Smart Homes do not buy or sell lots; they work directly with people that own existing residential lots. They do, however, have licensed personnel on staff that can advise and assist with lot procurement if needed. The company manages all the site preparation work, builds foundations on site, and also builds garages on-site using traditional construction methods and materials. Homes are manufactured in Woodland, CA—using wood, sheetrock, and other traditional home building materials—and then transported in sections to customer properties where they are installed by Smart Homes’ crews, including all utilities. Garages are attached to every Smart Homes floorplan.
Champion Enterprises operates the Woodland factory and builds the Vineyard-Series homes, which are only offered to buyers exclusively through Smart Homes—a licensed California Housing and Community Development dealer. Homes include a 7-year warranty. Founded in 1953 and based in Troy, Michigan, Champion Enterprises is part of Skyline Champion Corporation and traded on the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE: SKY). It’s one of the largest home building companies in North America and employs approximately 6,600 people at the corporate office and in 38 manufacturing plants. In 69 years of business, the company has built over 3 million homes. Learn more: https://www.championhomes.com/
About Smart Homes
The team at Smart Homes have built over 38,000 homes collectively over the past 23 years. Off-site built homes cost less than stick-built homes, can be delivered and occupied faster, are extremely efficient to build using precise factory methods and assembly, and represent a significant advantage to home buyers because the process is managed so effectively in the factory that change-orders no longer cause production delays. Smart Homes had started an off-site manufactured-housing company after the 2017 fires to develop the concept for building and selling off-site built, single-family homes and ADUs to address the strong demand for fire rebuilds while also addressing California’s housing demand of the future, particularly with the high cost of custom home building.
